Project Background
We were employed by Main Contractor Thomas Johnstone on the recent renovation of the Dormy Clubhouse at the world famous Gleneagles Golf Club. This £3m makeover was in preparation for the forth coming 2014 Ryder Cup event which will take place on the PGA Centenary course in September. Our works package included the restoration of many existing Cornices ,New Cornice within the entrance lobby and restaurant area , all internal plaster work & external render to both the existing and also newly formed starter huts. Former winning Captain Colin Montgomerie had this to say , ‘ It’s much better – They’ve done a great job . Everything being done here for the Ryder Cup offers everything a player at any level could need including magnificent views.
Approach Taken
Further to site pre-start meeting we obtained all Cornice samples for reproduction . These were then manufactured in our workshop for fitting on site. All internal and external plaster / render work was complete to programme schedule , this included weekend work to ensure our works were complete on time to the satisfaction of the client and contractor.
Project Feedback
I am pleased to say that the works carried out by City Crafts at the Dormy both the plaster /render and cornice works was 1st class with no issue’s to report. The quality and workmanship was excellent with all works completed on programme.
