Project background
We were part of the works involved in updating a 1930’s bungalow into an open plan modern living space. We worked along side other trades and were involved with supplying and fitting a cornice in the living/kitchen area as well as plastering the stairwell area and attic conversion upstairs.
Approach Taken
It was important for the client to choose a cornice that would “fit in” with the character of the building. In order to achieve this, we met with the client at our showroom and showed them samples from our Hodkin & Jones range. After discussions, we gave them samples away to take to the house and then at a later date met the client on site to make a decision on which one to go with. The plastering work required was carried out within the bungalows attic space which was being transformed into an open plan master bedroom with en-suite . As with most attic conversions lots of angles are present due to the ceiling Coombs which tend to follow the line if the roof . Great care was taken when forming these angles to ensure that our clients finish was unaffected by these and that all angles visible were created to highest standard .
