Project Background
Our client Mr. Banks requested our advise and an estimate to replace a missing section of Cornice and also to plaster his walls and ceiling within the properties bathroom during renovation works. The property was located in a Georgian terraced area of Edinburgh’s new town.
Approach taken
Once our estimate had been submitted and accepted, a sample of the existing Cornice was obtained from site and returned to our workshop where production of the material required would begin. During this time we had operatives on site to carry out the preparation and plaster work to the existing ceiling and walls which were to receive a full skim of plaster in order for Mr Banks to achieve the perfect smooth finish he desired prior to decoration. Once this was complete the missing section of Cornice was carefully installed by our expert team and the clients bathroom was ready for decoration.
Project Feedback
“I recently employed City Crafts to undertake some repair work in my bathroom. My wife and I wanted to remove the Victorian lead tank there but unfortunatley when I removed the woodwork supporting the tank I found that the cornicing around the bathroom had been severly damaged. I was very impressed with the work undertaken by the company I know that when I paint the job nobody will actually know that the tank was originally there or that the cornice itself was actually damaged. I’m very impressed, thank you very much to City Crafts.” – David Banks, 10 Clarence street Edinburgh.
